An Attack on Civility

Recently, pipe bombs have been found in prominent Democrats mail. A pipe bomb is a homemade  bomb created with a pipe. In the mail, influential democrats recieved pipe bombs. Among those influencers are people like Hillary Clinton and the Obama family. All of the bombs sent to the Democrats were all the same, leading the FBI to believe that a single person sent these bombs to multiple people. None of the bombs have actually been detonated, but the FBI is investigating to find the person who had sent them. Though the FBI hasn’t made any major discoveries, they do believe that they were sent from Southern Florida according to two people briefed on the situation. What is interesting about this crime is that some of the bombs were mailed, while others were hand delivered to the houses. This information had lead the FBI to think that the person who planned this has connections in other states (CLICK HERE to read the in depth New York Times article on the matter).

This event does raise questions about the political divisions in America right now. Do you think that this act was politically motivated? Why or why not? Even though these bombs did not detonate, do you think that the intention of them was to actually explode or just scare these democratic influencers?     The attacks certainly look politically motivated as all of the targets have been at people who have criticized President Trump, if this is the case then I would hope this doesn't further divide the nation politically as it is a time when people need to stand together more than ever.

    It'll be interesting to follow this story. What I find noteworthy is that none of the bombs have gone off (thank goodness!), but might this say something about the person who built them?

Macon says that the relationship between Ruth and her father was too close. Macon explains that her father delivered Ruth’s girls and when he died, he saw Ruth laying naked sucking on her fathers fingers. Facebook vs. New York Times

As of Wednesday the New York Times published and investigation about the Russian interference on Facebook. The investigation stated that Facebook had not fully released all their known information about the Russian interference. The investigation also stated that Facebook hired a private company to dig up extra inside information on their competitors. Mark Zucerberg, the CEO of Facebook, responded to these claims in a rather defensive way.
